What once appeared to be only a matter of time will no longer materialize. Internacional has pulled out of negotiations to sign defender Matheus Dória after a change in technical direction at the club.
Talks had advanced to the point where Dória needed only to terminate his contract with Atlas, of Liga MX, to become a free agent and complete the move to Internacional. That scenario shifted with the arrival of Fabinho Soldado as football director.
After reassessing the market alongside head coach Paulo Pezzolano, the club’s new leadership decided to abandon the pursuit of Dória in favor of what they viewed as stronger alternatives. The decision effectively ended negotiations that had been close to a final agreement.
